Not at all! You don't need any prior fitness level to begin. Jiu-Jitsu is designed to help you build strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular conditioning gradually over time.
For your trial, wear any comfortable gym clothing. If you're attending a Gi class, we will lend you a clean, proper uniform (Kimono) so you can experience the training fully.

Mateus Lasco began his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey in 2000 and earned his Black Belt under Fábio Gurgel at Alliance Jiu Jitsu in 2016. With over 22 years of experience, Mateus is now the founder and Head Coach of Lasco Jiu Jitsu Australia, dedicated to building confidence, developing strong individuals and helping students of all levels, from everyday people to competitors, grow on and off the mats through the most authentic Jiu Jitsu Varsity Lakes has to offer.
