When Lasco Jiu Jitsu opened its doors in 2023, it carried a simple but powerful mission: to bring authentic, high-quality Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to the Gold Coast. A lot has happened since then. We have grown, we have moved into a new home at Varsity Lakes, and our community has become something truly special.
Now, it is time for our look to match who we have become.
We are proud to introduce the new Lasco Jiu Jitsu visual identity — a refined brand built to represent not just where we are today, but where we are going.
Why a Brand Update?
A brand is more than a logo. It is a statement of who you are and the standards you hold. As Lasco Jiu Jitsu grows — in students, in reputation, and in vision — we felt it was important that every element of our identity reflected the seriousness, heritage, and excellence that define our academy on and off the mats.
The new brand was designed from the ground up to honour our roots while projecting the future we are building.
The New Logo: Meaning Behind Every Line
At the heart of the new identity is a refined crest — a circular badge featuring the iconic LA symbol, the Australian flag, and the founding year 2023. The design draws from the tradition of martial arts crests that represent legacy, discipline, and belonging.
The primary colour is a deep, rich gold — chosen deliberately. Gold in martial arts represents achievement, prestige, and the highest standard. Paired with a strong black, it creates an identity that is bold, timeless, and unmistakably Lasco.
The typography is equally deliberate: sharp, structured, and modern — just like the game we teach on the mats.
Built for High Standards, Built to Grow
This update is not just cosmetic. It is a commitment. The new brand is designed to scale — to represent Lasco Jiu Jitsu with the same level of quality whether you see it on a gi patch, a website, a social media post, or the sign above the door of a future Lasco academy.
Because expansion is part of the plan. We are building something that goes beyond one gym on the Gold Coast. We are building a brand that stands for authentic BJJ — with genuine roots, genuine coaches, and genuine results — wherever it lands.

The name has not changed. The lineage has not changed. Coach Mateus Lasco is still on the mat every day, teaching the same Alliance-certified curriculum he has refined over more than two decades. What has changed is the presentation — and the ambition.
We are proud of where we came from. We are excited about where we are going. And we are grateful to every single person who has been part of this journey so far.
